The Journey
Lukas Luburic is one of Upper 90 College’s newest success stories – a Sydney-born attacker from St Patrick’s Marist Dundas who made the leap to Feather River College in Quincy, California, and ‘absolutely crushed’ his first NJCAA season according to Upper 90 College. Growing up in Sydney, NSW, Lukas was placed by Upper 90 College at Feather River College – a junior college program set in the stunning mountain scenery of the Sierra Nevada in Quincy, Northern California. At 5’8”, Lukas brings the technical quality and attacking instinct of an Australian footballer shaped by the competitive Sydney junior football environment. In his debut freshman season, Lukas immediately made his mark for the Feather River Golden Eagles, establishing himself as a regular attacking contributor and earning praise from Upper 90 College for the quality and intensity he brought to training and matches from day one. Lukas’s story is just beginning, but his trajectory from Sydney to the California mountains represents the spirit of exploration and ambition that defines every Upper 90 athlete who takes the plunge into US college soccer.
Challenges Overcome
Moving from Sydney to a small college set in the mountains of Northern California required an adventurous spirit and complete confidence in the Upper 90 pathway. Delivering in his debut season confirmed that Lukas’s quality translates to the NJCAA environment.
