The Journey
Jarrod Henson is one of Upper 90 College’s most decorated current NAIA alumni – a Sydney-born midfielder/defender who graduated from Concordia University Nebraska with a Business Administration degree after a four-year career that helped transform the Bulldogs’ program and earned him two All-GPAC selections. Growing up in Sydney, NSW, and attending Oakhill College, Jarrod was placed by Upper 90 College at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska – a highly competitive GPAC program in the NAIA. From the moment he arrived, Jarrod made his mark. As a freshman in 2021, he contributed a goal and two assists across 15 appearances. By his sophomore year (2022), he was scoring 2 goals across 17 appearances. His junior year (2023) was his most decorated: 18 games, 13 starts, 1 goal and 4 assists, earning Second Team All-GPAC and Omaha World-Herald Honorable Mention All-Midlands Team. As a senior (2024), Jarrod continued to contribute with a game-winning assist against Northwestern. His four-year career was central to Concordia’s ascent into the NAIA National Tournament – a landmark achievement for the program. After graduating with his Business Administration degree, Jarrod was celebrated by Upper 90 College as one of the finest examples of what the NAIA pathway can deliver.
Challenges Overcome
Building from a freshman contributor to an All-GPAC selection across four seasons in one of the NAIA’s most competitive conferences required consistent development. Helping Concordia reach the NAIA National Tournament was a career-defining team achievement.
