The Journey
Georgia Fogarty's journey from Canberra to Austin, Texas is a story of persistence, academic excellence, and a love of the game that carried her through four competitive seasons at St. Edward's University – one of the most beautiful campuses in the American South. Growing up in Canberra, Georgia trained in the ACT football pathway and was placed by Upper 90 College at St. Edward's University (SEU) in Austin, Texas – a highly regarded Lone Star Conference NCAA Division II program known for its strong academic reputation and consistent soccer pedigree. Georgia made her collegiate debut in 2018 and went on to complete four seasons with the Hilltoppers, wearing jersey #31 as a midfielder. Despite dealing with a redshirt period, she persevered through multiple seasons and accumulated 19 career appearances across her time at SEU. Her best individual moments came in 2019 when she scored her first college goal at UT Tyler and added an assist against UT Permian Basin. Off the pitch, Georgia was equally impressive: she earned the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2019, 2020, and Spring 2021, and the Heartland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll in Fall 2018. She also earned an Honorable Mention at the 2020 Student Juried Art Exhibition at SEU, where she was a Fine Arts major – a testament to her commitment to life beyond sport. Austin, Texas proved to be the perfect backdrop for Georgia's growth as both a student-athlete and an artist.
Challenges Overcome
Navigating a redshirt year and adapting to the LSC's competitive standard required resilience. Balancing a Fine Arts major with the rigours of college soccer across four seasons demonstrated Georgia's exceptional dedication.
