The Journey
Corrine Denton is one of Upper 90 College’s most celebrated women’s soccer alumni – a Canberra-born forward who blossomed into a South Atlantic Conference standout at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee, earning Preseason All-Conference recognition in her senior season. Growing up in Canberra, Corrine developed her football at Gungahlin United FC and attended John Curtin College of the Arts in Western Australia. She was identified by Upper 90 College as a forward with the pace, technique and goal-scoring instinct to thrive in the competitive SAC at NCAA Division II level. At LMU, Corrine became a consistent contributor across four seasons, accumulating appearances and goals in the SAC. Her junior season (2022) saw her score goals in key victories, including one against Milligan. In 2023, she was named SAC Preseason Third Team All-Conference – a recognition that confirmed her status as one of the Railsplitters’ most dangerous attackers and a player to watch in the conference. After her decorated college career, Corrine returned to Australia and signed with Gungahlin United FC for the 2024 NPL season – a homecoming for a player who had grown enormously through her US college experience. She has also featured in Upper 90 College webinars, sharing her insights on fitness and the college pathway with the next generation of Australian footballers.
Challenges Overcome
Competing across four SAC seasons at the NCAA D2 level while balancing academic and personal growth required tremendous dedication. Being named SAC Preseason All-Conference as a senior was the reward for four years of consistent development.
