Lauren Woodcock — NAIA soccer player at Campbellsville University, placed by Upper 90 College

The Journey

Lauren Woodcock's journey from Collaroy Plateau on Sydney's Northern Beaches to the NAIA ranks in Kentucky is a story of persistence, adaptability, and growth across multiple college programs. Attending Narrabeen Sports High School in Sydney, Lauren was developed by Upper 90 College as a composed, technically sound defender with the physical attributes and competitive mentality to thrive in the US college system. Her pathway began at Daytona State College in Florida, where she started 12 of 14 games in her freshman season. From there, Lauren transferred to Lincoln Memorial University before ultimately finding her home at Campbellsville University in Kentucky – an NAIA powerhouse in the Mid-South Conference. It was at Campbellsville where Lauren's career truly flourished. She became a key defensive starter, earning Second Team All Mid-South Conference honours in both her senior season (2021) and her 5th-year graduate season (2022). In her graduate season she started 18 of 19 games, scored a goal, and added an assist, capping a five-year college career built on resilience and the willingness to adapt across three different programs and two different levels of college soccer. Since graduating, Lauren has transitioned into coaching, serving as a graduate assistant with the Campbellsville women's soccer program – ensuring the next generation of Tigers benefits from the same dedication she brought to her own playing career.

Challenges Overcome

Navigating three different college programs across multiple levels of US college soccer required exceptional mental toughness and adaptability. Starting over each time in a new environment, building trust with new coaches and teammates, and ultimately thriving over a five-year career demonstrated Lauren's character.
