Athletic Scholarship – NCAA Division II

The Journey

Jade Brown is one of Upper 90 College’s most exciting current student-athletes – a Canberra-born midfielder/forward who earned selection in the Australian Schoolgirls national team before making her mark in NCAA Division II at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. Growing up in Canberra, Jade was identified as one of the ACT’s brightest young talents. She earned selection in the Australian Schoolgirls football team that travelled to Dallas, USA – a significant national honour that confirmed her ability at the elite junior level. Upper 90 College founder John Stevanja identified her as a player with the technical quality and attacking instinct to thrive in the US college environment. Jade’s US college pathway began at the JUCO level before she earned a scholarship to Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee – a highly competitive NCAA Division II program in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC). At LMU, Jade quickly established herself as one of the team’s most dynamic attackers. In her junior season (2024) she appeared in 18 matches, made 13 starts, logged 1,077 minutes, scored 2 goals and added 2 assists. Her impact was recognised when she was named the team’s Midfield Player of the Year – a reflection of her work rate, technical ability, and attacking contribution to the Railsplitters. In summer 2025, she was selected to join Erie’s USL W League team, testing herself in a professional environment alongside her ongoing scholarship commitments. Jade’s story is the embodiment of what the Upper 90 pathway delivers – a young Australian footballer with national team credentials who has found her home in competitive NCAA D2 soccer.

Challenges Overcome

Adapting from the Canberra football environment to the physical demands of the South Atlantic Conference in NCAA D2 required significant development. Navigating the JUCO pathway before earning her D2 scholarship demonstrated Jade’s resilience and determination to reach the level she deserved.
