The Journey
Conor McGoldrick is one of Upper 90 College's standout long-term alumni stories — a Wollongong-born goalkeeper placed by Upper 90 College at Oakland City University (NAIA) who has gone on to build a full coaching career in the United States. A product of Holy Spirit College in Wollongong, Conor was placed at Oakland City University in Indiana, where he spent four years as a goalkeeper for the Mighty Oaks (2013-2016), earning three varsity letters across his collegiate career. Since graduating, Conor has settled in Saratoga, California, where he has built an impressive coaching resume: Assistant Coach for Men's Soccer at West Valley College (CCCAA Coast Conference), Head Coach of Saratoga High School's boys soccer program, and a Pre-Academy Director at Allstars SC. His journey from an Upper 90 placement to a full-time American coaching career is a powerful example of where the pathway can lead beyond the playing days.
Challenges Overcome
Coming from Wollongong, Australia to a small NAIA program in Indiana required significant adaptation to a new country, new style of play, and new academic environment. Conor thrived across four seasons, earning three varsity letters and building the foundation for his post-playing coaching career.
