The Journey
Caitlin Cantrill's story at Louisiana State University is one that goes far beyond statistics – it's a story of leadership, character, and leaving a program better than she found it. Growing up in Canberra, Australia, Caitlin was a standout at Radford College and a decorated representative player, earning two years in the Australian Under-17 Women's National Team (2013–2014), a season with the U20 Women's National Team in 2014, and three selections as an Australian National All-Star. Her credentials were exceptional before she even arrived in the US. Placed by Upper 90 College at LSU in 2016, Caitlin quickly made her mark in the SEC – the most competitive women's soccer conference in America. In her freshman year she appeared in 12 matches, made four starts, and scored her first collegiate goal in a 3-0 win at Indiana. She wore the purple and gold with distinction across five seasons (including a COVID waiver year), becoming a team captain in her senior year. What made Caitlin truly special was her impact beyond the field. She became the team's iconic 'Win Bar' carrier – holding LSU's famous PVC 'Win' pipe on the sideline of every match. The Win Bar became a beloved symbol of LSU soccer culture, and Caitlin's energy and leadership were credited by her coaches and teammates as central to the Tigers' SEC Tournament Championship run in 2019. She graduated from LSU in 2020 – having competed in one of the most demanding athletic programs in the country while building relationships and memories that will last a lifetime.
Challenges Overcome
Competing in the SEC – consistently ranked as the toughest conference in women's college soccer – required enormous adaptation from a young Australian. Managing reduced game time in her middle years without losing her passion or her positive impact on the program showed a maturity rare in any athlete.

"I wanted to leave the program better than I found it. That will always mean more to me than any personal stat."
