The Journey
Angus Till is one of Upper 90 College’s most exciting current NCAA D2 athletes – a Sydney-born centre back and defensive midfielder from Barker College who has established himself as a defensive pillar for Ferrum College in the Conference Carolinas in his debut freshman season. Growing up in Sydney and competing at Barker College, Angus was identified by Upper 90 College as a towering, technically gifted defender with the physical attributes (6’2”, 170 lbs) and football intelligence to make an immediate impact at the D2 level. His placement at Ferrum College in Ferrum, Virginia launched a debut season that exceeded expectations. In the 2025 season, Angus quickly established himself as a key starter for the Ferrum Panthers in Conference Carolinas. His performances at centre back were so impressive that he was signed by Erie Sports Centre FC for the USL League 2 summer season – a professional developmental league – representing one of the most exciting progressions for any Upper 90 freshman in recent memory. Angus’s commitment to academic excellence was also recognised, with him named to the CSC Men’s Soccer Academic All-District Team in 2025.
Challenges Overcome
Making an immediate impact as a freshman centre back in the Conference Carolinas required both physical and tactical readiness. Being signed for USL League 2 competition after just one college season confirmed that Angus is operating well above the freshman standard.
