You sure could go it alone, but what we have found that over 13 years in the business of college athletics recruiting is that without having your own solid network (which takes years to build), and having someone to guide you that has the expertise in your chosen sport, plus the direct contact with an ever expanding network of coaches daily, you would find the process of DIY recruiting very time consuming and hit and miss, and time consuming. College athletics recruiting is the process by which college coaches and staff identify and attract potential student-athletes to their school's athletic programs.

NCAA rules state that Division I coaches can begin reaching out to prospective student-athletes starting June 15 after the completion of their sophomore year in high school. For Division II, it is after the junior year. There are no real age restrictions in NCAA Division III, and the same for NAIA and NJCAA (Junior College programs).

College coaches can find out about potential recruits through a variety of means, such as attending high school games and events, scouting websites and recruiting services, and receiving recommendations from high school coaches and other contacts. Upper 90 college is a recruiting service, so we work on your behalf to introduce you to coaches that are looking at your unique academic and athletic skill sets to bring into their school and college athletics program.

You can initiate contact with a college coach by sending them an email or letter introducing yourself and expressing your interest in their program. It's also important to include your academic and athletic information, such as your GPA and stats. This is the typical method if you are going about recruiting alone. Upper 90 College will do the heavy lifting for you. All we need is detailed and playing academic information about yourself, and we use our 13 years of expertise to package it all up and promote it to a vetted network of college athletics coaches in the USA who are looking for your particular skill sets.

An official visit is a visit to a college or university paid for by the school's athletic department. The prospective student-athlete can have transportation, lodging and meals paid for, along with the chance to meet with coaches, players, and other members of the school community. Upper 90 College provides a service called Connect Experience, which works very closely with coaches in our network across the USA, and builds out a custom itinerary of coaches & camps to meet up with and attend, that have a high interest in you as a player and student. The National Letter of Intent (NLI) signing period varies depending on the sport.

If you change your mind after signing a National Letter of Intent, you will likely lose your scholarship and would not be able to participate in the sport at that school. Upper 90 College works extremely hard to make sure that the first athletics program you attend, is the one you'd eventually play your chosen sport at and graduate from. Things do change as well, and the college athletics landscape is very dynamic. Because the college athletics landscape is dynamic, we created a service to be able to assist you if you decided to move from one program to another for any variety of reasons. Yes, NCAA eligibility rules require that college athletes maintain a certain grade point average and pass a certain number of classes in order to be eligible to participate in their sport.
