Celebrating 2024: Upper 90 College Athletes Shine on the Field and in the Classroom
As the founder of Upper 90 College, I am delighted to reflect on the remarkable achievements of our clients during the 2024 collegiate soccer season. Their dedication, both on the field and in the classroom, exemplifies the core values we strive to instill at Upper 90 College.
Simon Kalinauskas – Amherst College
Simon played a pivotal role in Amherst College's journey to the NCAA Division III National Championship. His decisive penalty kick secured the title for the Mammoths in a thrilling match against Connecticut College.
Beyond his athletic prowess, Simon has demonstrated exceptional commitment to his academics, maintaining a strong GPA in his chosen field of study. His ability to balance the demands of collegiate athletics with rigorous academic coursework is truly commendable.
Liv Riddel – Jefferson Rams
Liv concluded her collegiate soccer career with the Jefferson Rams on a high note, earning the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Goalkeeper of the Year award for the second consecutive year. Her outstanding performances were instrumental in leading the Rams to the CACC Championship and advancing to the NCAA Division II East Regional Final.
Academically, Liv's dedication has been recognized with the College Sports Communicators (CSC) First Team Academic All-American Award, reflecting her commitment to excellence in both her sport and her studies.
Keegan Grant – University of Findlay
Keegan's exceptional skills as a goalkeeper were recognized as he was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year. His contributions were crucial in leading the University of Findlay Oilers to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II National Tournament, where they advanced to the Sweet Sixteen.
In the classroom, Keegan has demonstrated a strong commitment to his studies, balancing the rigors of collegiate athletics with academic responsibilities, and earning accolades for his scholastic achievements.
Zoe Edwards – Keiser University
In her inaugural collegiate season, Zoe made a significant impact by helping Keiser University reach the NAIA National Championship match. Her contributions as a midfielder were instrumental in the Seahawks' successful campaign.
Zoe has also transitioned smoothly into the academic environment, pursuing a degree in psychology and demonstrating a strong commitment to her studies. Her ability to adapt and excel both on the field and in the classroom sets a promising foundation for her collegiate career.
Ella Palframan – Tyler Junior College
As a freshman, Ella played a key role in Tyler Junior College's journey to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. Her performance throughout the season contributed significantly to the team's success.
Ella has also embraced the academic challenges of college life, maintaining a commendable GPA and actively engaging in her coursework. Her dedication to balancing athletics and academics is noteworthy.
Dunia Kambona – Eastern Oklahoma State College
Dunia's contributions were vital in Eastern Oklahoma State College's successful season, culminating in a strong performance in their conference.
Academically, Dunia has shown a strong commitment to his studies, effectively managing the demands of being a student-athlete and achieving commendable academic results.
Alfie Pinches – Snow College
Alfie played a significant role in Snow College's impressive season, contributing to the team's success in their conference and helping them secure a spot in the national tournament.
In addition to his athletic achievements, Alfie has demonstrated academic diligence, maintaining a solid GPA and actively participating in his academic pursuits.
John Fragakis – Georgia Gwinnett College
John's defensive prowess was instrumental in Georgia Gwinnett College's successful season, leading to an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.
John has also excelled academically, earning a place on the Academic All-Conference team and showcasing his ability to balance the demands of collegiate athletics with academic excellence.
Max Trushell – D'Youville University
Max's leadership and performance were key factors in D'Youville University's successful season, contributing to the team's achievements in their conference.
Academically, Max has maintained a strong GPA, reflecting his dedication to his studies and his ability to effectively balance his responsibilities as a student-athlete.
Ryan Mrvcic – Mercyhurst University
As a freshman, Ryan made an immediate impact on Mercyhurst University's men's soccer team. His contributions were instrumental in the Lakers securing the Northeast Conference (NEC) title in their inaugural year competing at the NCAA Division I level. Notably, Ryan scored his first collegiate goal early in the season, setting the tone for a successful campaign.
Off the field, Ryan is pursuing a dual major in Accounting and Finance, demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence alongside his athletic endeavors.
